About Yael Schlenger, LCSW

Yael’s approach to therapy is to address the problematic patterns that exist between people through empathic curiosity and nonjudgmental listening. Yael works to establish a safe and warm therapeutic environment in which safety, vulnerability and growth can thrive.

After graduating from the NYU Silver School of Social Work, Yael continued her postgraduate training in individual, couple and family therapy. Yael is a certified couple and family therapist through the Ackerman Institute for the Family. Yael also completed training in Interpersonal Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the William Alanson White Institute as well as in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT). Yael is a licensed clinical social worker in the states of New York and New Jersey.

Yael has experience working with diverse populations across a wide range of treatment settings. Her particular interests include family and couple therapy, family conflict, life-cycle transitions, relationship and attachment issues, premarital counseling, sex-positive education and spirituality.
